2006 Noosa Festival of Surfing

This event was staged over the 7th - 12th March, 2006 and provided a brilliant display of surfing ability - ranging from the extremely talented under 14s to the extremely experienced over 55s - and everything in between. While wave conditions could have been better, the sunshine was exactly what the coast is named after and there were moments when some extremely contestable waves were ridden - and the finals held at First Point were a treat!
This annual contest is presented by The Noosa Malibu Club and sponsored by a generous array of businesses from the Noosa business community and the surfing industry. Over 400 surfers came from all parts of Australia , France ; USA and Hawaii ; New Zealand and Japan to participate and provided the spectators with some sensational longboard riding - including Noseriding   and Tandem events.
